Logic 12.2 has been released and we are aware of some communication and operation issues with the Panorama CS12.

If you have not already updated to Logic 12.2, please wait.

We will continue testing with other Nektar controllers and update this page as we have more information.

There are some new features in Logic 12 which affect control surfaces and cause some unexpected behaviors. Those are listed below.

Fader controls Master volume instead of selected track. This is related to a setting called  ‘Control Surface follows focused view’, in Settings>Control Surfaces. Turn off that option, when using the Nektar controllers.

  • Open the ‘Logic Pro’ menu
  • Select ‘Settings’
  • Select ‘Control Surfaces’
  • In the window that appears, untick the ‘Control Surface follows focused view’ and the options

Bus and Output channels cannot be controlled unless there are tracks for those channels present. This appears to be an intentional change but our developer is discussing it with our contacts at Apple. In the mean time, right-click on bus channels and select ‘Create Track’, you will then be able to control the channel, when the associated track is selected. With regard to Output channels, right-click and select ‘Show Ouput Track’.

If you are experiencing a problem other than what I’ve described above, follow these steps to reset control surface configurations configuration in Logic.

  1. Open the ‘Logic Pro’ menu
  2. Select ‘Settings’
  3. Select ‘Control Surfaces’
  4. In the window that appears, go to the ‘MIDI Controllers’ page under ‘Control Surfaces’ (not the ‘MIDI’ tab on the left)
  5. Untick the ‘Auto’ options for all of the control surface listed there, then tick that option again.
  6. The ControlSurface Setup window will appear. Close that window and the Setting menu.

Next, clear out Logic’s control surface settings. Note, that doing so will cause Logic to forget control assignments made with Logic’s MIDI learn function (this doesn’t affect our plug-ins maps).

  1. Close any applications you have open and open a Finder window.
  2. Open the ‘Go’ menu at the top of the screen.
  3. With the Go menu open, hold the Alt/Option key on your keyboard and select ‘Library’ from the Go menu.
  4. In the Finder window, open the ‘Preferences’ folder.
  5. Find com.apple.logic.pro.cs and move it to your desktop or somewhere you can find it later.
  6. Start Logic.

Note: After resetting the Nektar controller’s controller settings, the ‘Control Surface follows focused view’ option will be activated again.
