On P4 & P6 you do that by holding down the Patch-/+ buttons while powering on the unit.

On P1, disconnect and reconnect, then press the [Cycle] + [Record] buttons. You then have 2 seconds to press the [Patch-] and [Patch+] buttons.
Keep holding the patch buttons until you see the fader display on Panorama.

NOTE: This will erase all user memory and settings. If you want to keep your user memory banks; please do a backup, and restore after resetting.

When putting Panorama P1 into Firmware update mode or restoring factory content to Panorama P1, it is not necessary to disconnect it from your computer.

Simply press the [Loop/F6] and [Record/F11] buttons at the same time and Panorama P1 will begin to count down. During the count down, you can hold the [Toggle/View] and [Mixer] buttons to access Firmware Update mode, or hold the [Patch-] and [Patch+] buttons to restore factory installed content to the P1’s presets.

Special Switch Functions, Shortcuts, & Dual-Button presses

About Page
The firmware version of your Panorama is listed on a hidden page we call the ‘About page’. Here you will also find other items of interest such as the unit’s hardware version. To access this information your Panorama needs to be on the Internal mode home page, which is done by pressing the Internal button. Next, press Menu buttons 1 and 2 at the same time and the About page will appear. To exit, press Menu button 5 (the one with the ‘Return arrow’ graphic).

Self-test Mode
First close your DAW and any other MIDI application. Next, press and hold the [Play/F10] button and the [Internal] button at the same time and then power up the Panorama. This will put your unit into Self-test mode, which is primarily intended to be used as part of factory testing but may also be useful for troubleshooting.

You’ll see graphics corresponding to various controls: Rotary, bar graph, switch, keyboard icon. Menu button 5 will cycle the display through three colors: red, white, and black. Press any button or move any control to return to the main Self-test mode display.

Note: the motorized fader performs its own self-test when power is supplied via the Aux USB port, so it is not included in the Self-test mode.

Global Menu
Press the [Oct-] and [Oct+] buttons at the same time to access the Global Menu. While you’re in that Menu the [Oct-] and [Oct+] buttons won’t change the octave range of the Panorama keyboard; instead, they are used to change the value of the selected Global parameter.

MIDI FX Menu
Press the [Glide-] and [Glide+] switches at the same time to access the MIDI FX menu.

F-Keys
Press and hold the [F-Keys] button while selecting one of the other F buttons (F1 through F11) to execute their assigned functions.

Firmware Update Mode
Powering on while pressing the [Toggle/View] and [Mixer] buttons at the same time will put Panorama in the mode where it is ready to receive a firmware update.

Factory Reset
Warning! This will erase any changes you have made to the Presets and Maps. If you have made edits you do not want to lose, be sure to back up your memory before you proceed.

To perform a factory reset, press and hold both [Patch] buttons while powering up the Panorama. All of the Presets and Maps will be restored to the original factory settings.

Secondary Encoder Curve
Hold the [Shift] button while turning an encoder to activate the Secondary Encoder Curve. Find more information about encoder curves here: Global mode: Encoder curve.

If you find that Panorama is recognized by Windows but it will not switch to Mixer Mode when you start your DAW after restarting the computer, the problem could be related to the Power Management settings in Windows.

Disable Fast Startup:

Open the Start Menu, then type ‘Control Panel’ in the search field at the bottom of your screen. Press ‘Enter’.

In Control Pane, double-click on ‘Power Options’ (if you don’t see ‘Power Options’, select ‘Small Icons’ from the View By pull down menu in the top-right corner).

In Power Options, select ‘Choose what the power buttons do’ from the list on the left.

Select ‘Change settings that are currently unavailable’.

Uncheck the ‘Turn on fast startup (recommended)’ option.

Click ‘Save Changes’.

Disable USB Root Hub power management settings:

Right-click on the Start Menu, then select ‘Device Manager’.

Expand the ‘Universal Serial Bus Controllers’ category.

Double-click one of the ‘USB Root Hub’ devices.

Go to the ‘Power Management’ tab.

Un-check the option titled ‘Allow computer to turn off this device to save power’.

Click ‘OK’.

Do the same for all of the remaining USB Root Hub devices.

Sustain pedal works backward

Sustain pedals come in two varieties: normally open and normally closed. It doesn’t matter which you use, because Panorama senses the polarity of an attached sustain pedal when it is first powered up.

If your sustain pedal is working backward then somehow Panorama got the message that the polarity of your pedal is the opposite of what it really is. This can happen if the pedal was not present when Panorama was powered up (i.e., it was plugged in after the fact) or even if you happened to have your foot on the pedal accidentally at the time.

It is simple to reverse the polarity again. All you have to do is this:

Make sure the pedal is plugged in completely.

Don’t allow anything to rest on the pedal.

Power-cycle Panorama.

This should restore normal operation to the sustain pedal.

Limited range: is my knob working?

If one of your knobs is only giving you low values (roughly 1-10) and high values (in the 120s or so), don’t worry! It is probably set to MIDI CC (Rel).

If you want to change the behavior of the knob, this setting is found inside Control Edit mode.

First, from the top level of Internal mode, press Menu button 5 (Setup) and use the data knob to select Control Edit:

(image)

Next, turn the knob in question. Look in the display for the words “Message Type” and use the first two Menu buttons to navigate to that line:

(image)

Now you can select the option you prefer.

But you may actually want to keep the MIDI CC (Rel) setting when you learn what it can do. There’s more information in the article linked below.

Notes aren't recorded as played?

If you have trouble with notes getting cut short when recording a performance from the keyboard, it may be due to Zone settings.

If more than one Zone is active and these Zones have overlapping key ranges, you may experience some strange behavior when recording performances in Reason or other DAWs.

To solve this problem, press the Internal button, then press the display button labeled [Zones]. On the Zones page, if you see a red bar over any of the labels for the display buttons (Zone1, Zone2, Zone3, Zone4), press those buttons to deactivate the active Zones.

If you are experiencing this issue immediately after updating the firmware on your Panorama, we suggest that you perform a factory reset:

Turn off Panorama.

Hold the [Patch-] and [Patch+] buttons.

While holding those buttons, turn Panorama back on.

Continue to hold the [Patch-] and [Patch+] buttons until you see a message that says “Unit is restoring factory content to all presets…”

Your Panorama has now been restored to factory default settings.

Routing with Third-Party MIDI Tools

Routing MIDI from Panorama through a third-party application such as LoopBe, Bomes MIDI Translator or MIDI Yoke to a DAW such as Reason can cause unpredictable performance. This is particularly true if you are routing Panorama’s secondary ports through one of these applications. As a result, we don’t recommend intercepting the data coming from Panorama or going to Panorama using these kinds of applications.
